The stadium was built in 1933 to designs by German architect Paul Bonatz. The Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadion is a stadium located in Stuttgart, and before 1993 it was called Neckarstadion, named after the river Neckar. After a period of refurbishment in the late 1980s and early 1990s, The stadium hosted the country's first international as a reunified country in 1990.
