The Niedersachsen stadium was completed in 1954 and has been home to 1. Bundesliga club 'Hannover 96' since 1959. Both Brazil and Holland played matches here during the 1974 FIFA World Cup. Since then the venue has been renovated for the World Cup at a cost of £43m, and the capacity for Bundesliga matches will be reduced to 39,000 during the World Cup.
